The Biomedical and Obesity Research Core (BORC) provides research services for both internal and external users. BORC has 3,353 ft2 of laboratory space in Leverton Hall and designated space in the animal facility in the Life Sciences Annex. UNL has committed 507 sq. ft. of new space, located on the same floor as BORC, for future expansion. BORC offers services in molecular biology, mouse and human imaging, phenotyping, proteomics and metabolomics, tissue archiving, and consultation regarding biostatistics by Ph.D.-level staff. BORC is networked with the Holland Computing Center (HCC) on UNL’s campus to meet high speed, large capacity computational needs by NPOD members and external users. BORC also offers training sessions and supports research tool development programs that would benefit research for multiple labs.
